With an enormous 2.5" voice coil and a super-efficient cooling system, the VEX handles 300 watts of power with ease. We went with real carbon-fiber cone to handle high SPL systems without breakup, and achieved a 94.3dB sensitivity by combining a large diameter, high strength ferrite motor with a neodymium pole-cap magnet! A sturdy cast-aluminum frame features extensive spider cavity vents to further increase thermal power handling. The Sundown Audio VEX is one of the loudest, best sounding high-efficiency midrange drivers in existence.

🚗 Vehicle Fitment Guidance
This driver is designed for custom and fabricated enclosure installations. It is not a direct OEM drop-in replacement. Verify the following before purchasing:
- ✅ Available mounting depth — You need at least 5.2" of clearance behind the mounting surface.
- ✅ Baffle cutout size — Contact Sundown Audio or your installer for the required cutout diameter before cutting.
- ✅ Bolt pattern — Confirm hole spacing with a test-fit or by requesting the full spec sheet from Sundown Audio.
- ✅ Enclosure type — This driver is rear-vented; ensure adequate airflow in the enclosure design.
- ✅ Amplifier compatibility — Match amplifier output to 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm depending on your chosen variant.
📏 What to Measure Before You Buy
- Mounting depth: Measure from the back face of the mounting baffle to the nearest obstruction (beam, door hardware, glass). Must be ≥ 5.2".
- Baffle thickness: Note the thickness of the mounting surface — affects which hardware you'll need.
- Available width/height: For door or pod installs, confirm the outer diameter of your enclosure fits the 10" frame.
- Wire gauge & run length: Use appropriately gauged wire for the power level; spring terminals accept up to 12 AWG bare wire.
