Test your system

Run a sweep through your build and listen for where it gets loud, where it drops off, and where the trim panels start buzzing. Phone speakers can't reproduce anything under about 150Hz — that's the point. Play it through the system you're trying to test.

Start at low volume and come up slowly. Sustained low-frequency tones are far harder on drivers and on your hearing than music is — they carry no dynamics, so nothing gives your ears or your voice coils a break. Never run a tone at full tilt, and stop immediately if you hear distortion.
